If you're using Outlook Express (OE) I can think of two reasons this might be happening. Firstly, if you've uninstalled a web browser that was set as your default browser (such as Firefox or Opera etc) and OE doesn't know how to open the hyperlink. Or if you've installed a web browser from your ISP such as AOL. Secondly, it could be a problem with the setup of DLL files on your computer (these need to be set up for OE to work with hyperlinks).

If it's the first one, then you can set Internet Explorer (IE) to open hyperlinks as your default browser. Open IE and go to the 'Tools' menu and click on 'Internet options'. Select the 'Programs' tab, and ensure that the option 'Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser' is selected. Click 'Ok'.

You'll find lots of helpful suggestions using the links below. Check each one of them because there are quite a number of possible problems. I've assumed you're using Outlook Express though, because you haven't said which email program you're having the problem with. If you update the question then I'll update my answer.

In the first link below you'll need to scroll down to "Opening hyperlinks doesn't work and other problems" where it will explain about sorting out problems with DLL files that might cause your hyperlinks to fail.

All the best - I hope this helps with your problem.
Reply:you may have a pop up blocker on, this some times makes this problem or you could try holding down the ctrl key on your key bored down as you click the web site, this always works for me,Good luck
Reply:One other thought, you should only open web site links in e-mails if you *know and have complete trust* in the person who has sent you the message. When you open any web link in an e-mail, you are opening your computer to the e-mail sender be they friendly or otherwise. I NEVER open web links on any of the e-mails that I receive.
